How to do your own micro ring hair extensions

I previously posted a video on youtube where I asked if anybody would be interested in finding out how you can do your own professional extensions, due to the fact I do them myself. There are so many positives about doing this. Not only can you save ALOT of money - for example I was paying £400 for ones at the salon and I pay £70 to do them myself which are just as good if not better! It also means that if there is any problems or you need a consultation to add more hair, you can do it yourself, which saves alot of effort.
I chose to put this on my blog rather than make a video because you'll be able to follow it and get it up whenever you need it.

The items you will need:
1) Small pliers - Ebay - £2.00
These are to clamp the rings onto your natural hair, to hold them in place.

2) Pulling tool - Ebay £2.00 - You will be able to get all the tools together if you look carefully!
This is so that you can pull the hair through the ring easily.

3) Micro rings - You will want to get these in a similar colour to your hair so they are less visible. I believe you can get them in black, brown or blonde. You can also choose how many you get. For example I first purchased 200 because I ordered 200 pieces of hair, however, this time decided to get 1000 so I always have some spare. Again, you can get these off ebay and depending how many you get they vary from about £3 - £10 (I payed £4.50 for 1000 so look for a good deal!)
These are obviously to hold the hair and attach it to your own.
They have a protective layer inside to stop damaging your hair, you might have to remove that because it can take up some room, but its really easy just by getting a sharp tool and pushing it out. This one is 4.5mm, you can get 5mm too which I just ordered for thicker pieces of hair.

4) The hair! Excuse the state of this hair haha, this is just a few I've removed over the last month, my new hair hasn't arrived yet so I couldn't show you that! Depending on where you get these from they will come in different packets. For example some come in packets of 20-30 pieces, some come in 100 pieces. The supplying I get my hair from comes in 100 pieces and I order 2, so I have 200 strands of hair. For confidentiality reasons I can't tell you the supplying of my hair, but I can tell you where you can get good ones from. There are quite a few good reliable ones on google, you want to search for 'stick tip hair extensions' (picture below) You obviously will need to choose your length, I get 20". I found the best ones on ebay, they weren't the cheapest I could of got but were deffinitly the best quality. Don't be fooled - Just because its ebay does not mean its not a real hair supplier. The things you want to look for is:
- Make sure its real human hair
- You want the weight of each strand to be at least 1gram (If you go any less they will be thin strands)
- The best hair you can get is AAA*  which is the hair I use.
- Don't be afraid to email a supplier to get all the information and also if you are not happy its normally returnable to make sure that it is too!

METHOD:
I actually found it alot easier to get somebody else to fit them all first time. My mum fits them all for me (she learnt just by watching some video's which I'll link below) and I do maintenance on them (adding new ones, removing crappy ones). I just find this better because it can be tricky when trying to fit the ones round the back of your head.
I'll try and explain how to do it as best as I can, however, I think the best way is to watch videos which again I will link below.
1) Section off the hair - You want to start at the bottom and work your way up. Make sure all the extensions are lined up too, don't just put random ones anywhere because they can become knotted.
2) You want to take a few strands of hair - about half/full thickness of the strand your putting in.
3) Take your ring and place it onto the pulling tool, all the way too the end. The pulling tool can open and close at the beginning, like a little hook, make sure its open.
4) Put the strand of hair in the hook and close it. Push the ring all the way to the end and onto the hair. Then push the ring to the top of your hair, about a cm away from the scalp.
5) Push your strand of hair (stick tip) through the ring so that its showing slightly above it.
6) Clamp in place!

This may take long at first, however, once you get the hang of it, its really quick, easy and definitely worth it!

You can find a lot of good ones on youtube and that's how I learnt, so just keep looking for a good one that you understand!
This method is the best for your hair because it does not damage it. Although I will state that I am not influencing anybody to try this and it is your own decision 100%. I will not be the culprit if anything goes wrong. Other than that - enjoy! If you have any questions don't be afraid to comment below or message me on youtube!
